Primitive Reflexes
Primitive reflexes are reflex actions that originate in the central nervous system and are a key element in the early movements made by babies as they develop volitional control over their own movements both big and small. Typically primitive reflexes are integrated in the first year of life and reflexes that persist beyond this stage of development can show up as clumsiness, attention problems, motor planning difficulties and ADHD like symptoms. The following resources are all useful if you want to understand this process in more depth.
